Don't worry. This is not going to be one those nostalgic blogs about how things were better back in the day. I won't even compare gas prices.
But I do have to point out that I think everyone would be a little bit happier if we all still had recess and maybe nap-time. In Spain they have the siesta. It would be good if working people had a chance to run around, play and then crash for half an hour out of the busy day.
Try selling this idea to your boss. Use Bottom Line Logic; running around and playing jump-rope results in less fat people having heart attacks and quitting or dying. Saves tons of new-hire training money.
And let's hear it for endorphins! No more emo co-workers having breakdowns. Everyone with a new pep in their step striding down the hall and standing on their chair to lean over the cubicle wall and say, "I'm going to smash your face in on the dodge-ball court/parking lot later on dude!" It'll be great.
P.S - Bring back jacks and tether ball!
Maybe a bit nostalgic. Sorry.
