Here's the news from Lake Wobegon...
This season/semester's shows at Cal State Fullerton include RENT!!!!!! and Equus! My favorite musical of all time and a naked boy who stabs horses (intriguing). It's going to be a great fall.
Who wants to do/see this for my birthday?! Just an option. I'm open to suggestions.
If not I still really want to go here for the Saturday night show.
I'm really excited about my lesson plans. After reading "A Modest Proposal" the kids will be creating their own satire. Any other examples of satire that you love?

Last night I kept thinking of Dr. Seuss' The 500 (?) Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins (in connection with "getting to the bottom" of my health issues...), & as I was telling your daddy this AM, we got to talking about sarcasn & satire, & he suggested you should definitely show your students sime Dr, Seuss (I'd suggest Oh, The Places You'll Go, which I think was aimed at adults, or at least marketed for them-- a story about wanting to accomplish something & those who are more interested in getting a free ride or taking advantage of those who sre productive...)-- The 500 Hats would work too... & (he added) some Dilbert & Calvin & Hobbes cartoons.
Oh, you probably have already considered using "The Onion" ("Running out of rocks". etc...
